Why anonymous?
Most carriers tie your mobile data to a verified identity: passport, address, credit card. That identity is then sold, leaked, subpoenaed, or pieced together by data brokers.

How the anonymity actually works
"Anonymous" gets stretched a lot in this industry, so here is our model, mechanically. When you buy, our server generates a random recovery token - a long unguessable string. We store only a cryptographic hash of it; the token itself lives on your device. That token-hash is your account: it links to an eSIM identifier (ICCID), a USD balance, and a running total of megabytes used. That is the complete list of what we know about you.
There is no signup form to fill falsely, no email verification loop, no phone-number check. The three conditions that make an eSIM meaningfully anonymous - no identity check at purchase, no mandatory personal identifiers, and an anonymous payment rail - all hold at once. Compare that to "no-KYC" competitors that still require an email address and an account: that's pseudonymity with a paper trail, not anonymity.

What an anonymous eSIM can't do
Honesty matters more than marketing here. Two things no anonymous eSIM can deliver, ours included: it cannot hide your device's location from the mobile network - any active SIM exchanges signaling with the towers around it; that is how cellular works. And it cannot encrypt your traffic - use TLS, encrypted DNS, and a VPN for content privacy. The eSIM answers "who is holding this SIM?" with "nobody knows"; it doesn't change what the SIM transmits.
The realistic threat model: an anonymous eSIM is excellent against data brokers, advertising profiles, breach dumps, and any process that starts with "give us the subscriber's name." It is not a defense against state-level adversaries with lawful-intercept access to the underlying carrier. For most travelers the goal is simpler - stop handing a passport copy to a company you'll never speak to again just to get data abroad.
The identity layers, honestly labelled
"Anonymous" is a stack, not a single switch. Any mobile session touches five identifiers, and different products control different subsets. An anonymous eSIM addresses the top of the stack; the bottom needs different tools.
- Account identity - name, email, address, payment method. Anon eSIM never collects any of it. Fully anonymous.
- Payment trail - the money leaving your account to reach us. Anonymous by choice: pay with Bitcoin, Lightning, or USDT and there is no financial identity link at all; pay with a card and Stripe holds it (never us).
- SIM identifier (IMSI / ICCID) - the eSIM profile's own IDs. Randomly generated at provisioning and not correlated to a real person, but the carrier network of course sees them.
- Device identifier (IMEI) - the phone's hardware serial, broadcast by the modem regardless of SIM. No eSIM provider can hide this. If you need to obscure the device, use a burner handset.

What the carrier still sees
An anonymous eSIM does not change what the underlying carrier logs about the SIM's behaviour. Every mobile network - ours, Silent.link's, Airalo's - keeps essentially the same operational records:
- Which cell tower the SIM is attached to, updated as you move (approximate location accurate to a few hundred metres in cities, kilometres in rural areas).
- How many bytes went in and out per session. Enough to bill; not enough to know what you did.
- Which IP addresses the SIM communicated with, if any DPI is enabled on the carrier side. TLS hides the content, not the destination.
- The device's IMEI at attachment time. This is a modem-level identifier that has nothing to do with your eSIM account.
The difference an anonymous eSIM makes is at the top of the stack: none of that carrier telemetry is tied to a name, an email, or a payment identity we can hand over or lose. There is nothing on our side to unmask. If your threat model is a data broker, a marketing pipeline, or a breach dump, that gap is decisive. Is Anon eSIM really anonymous?+
We never ask for a name, email, address, phone number, or ID. The only identifier on your account is a random recovery token generated at purchase and stored hashed on our side. There is nothing to leak, subpoena, or sell because we never collected it.
What about my payment method?+
Card payments go through Stripe, which sees your card but doesn't share PII back to us. For full anonymity pay with crypto: BTC on-chain, Lightning, or USDT - on our side those payments carry no identity at all.
Do you log my data usage?+
We see aggregate megabytes per eSIM - that's what bills your balance. No domains, no destination IPs, no DPI, no location logs.
Will it survive losing my phone?+
Yes, if you save the recovery token we generate at checkout. Anyone with the token controls the eSIM, and nobody without it can - including us. Optionally attach an email as a backup; that's your choice, never a requirement.
Can an anonymous eSIM hide my location?+
No - and any provider that claims otherwise is lying. Every active SIM exchanges signaling with nearby cell towers; that's how cellular works. An anonymous eSIM removes your identity from the account, not your device from the network.
Is a no-KYC eSIM legal?+
Yes, for personal use in virtually every country. The eSIM is issued from a jurisdiction that permits ID-free prepaid SIMs, and you use it abroad as a visitor on a roaming profile - the same legal footing as any travel SIM.
